420. Official Gold Medal in 5 Franken Size. Struck at Bern Mint.
Gold, 33mm, 27 grams, by Wiederkehr. Nude athlete kneeling, holding
torch. Rev. Olympic rings over laurel branches. EF. ($400) Images:

c421. Starting Number. Red cloth with white number and green stripe
sewn on, black stamped rings and "St. Moritz". 27.3x23.5cm
(10.7"x9.2"). With strings for tying. Rare. EF. ($550)

c422. Dick Button World Champion Figure Skates. Men's size 9,
by Endicott Johnson, N.Y. Both skates with Dick Button facsimile
signature on blade. In large colorful box, large Olympic rings
on side, St. Moritz to Squaw Valley text. 18-year old Dick Button
won gold in St. Moritz by completing a double axle which he had
completed 2 days before the first time; his new move in Oslo was
the triple loop, and all nine judges voted for him - first place.
A few months later he turned professional. Skates new, box scuffed.
